Android 7.0 changing time zone even when time set to manual

My Android 7.0 tablet keeps changing the time zone even though I have it set to manual in the Date & Time settings. I keep setting it to Pacific and it keeps automatically changing it to Mountain. It's been going on since I got the tablet last Christmas. I can't seem to find a way to fix this, and it's driving me nuts! Even though I can simply subtract the hour, when I'm distracted and need to be somewhere, it will startle me for a second before I remember it's an hour ahead. Any leads on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

Tablet specs:
Acer B3-A40

Android version:
7.0

Settings are:

Settings > Date & Time

Automatic date & time
Off
------------------------
Set date
July 3, 2018
------------------------
Select time zone
GMT-06:00 Mountain Daylight Time
------------------------
Use 24-hour format (toggled off)
1:00 PM

I restored twice, and I don't have any customizations like that. I think it's still under warranty, was just hoping I could sort it out without hassling with that and that I was just missing something simple. This tablet is a replacement for the first that shut off and wouldn't boot back up, and I'm pretty sure that one was doing it too.

After reading your reply I went off in search of a way to manually update the Android version and didn't find one, although I did get the tablet to check for Acer updates.

Do you have any sorta widget on background like weather app or similar that has access for time? In app settings disable permissions.
If it still doesnt try changing your location on weather app or similar.
Seems pretty weird that phone does that.

Try this hard reset -> https://www.hardreset.info/devices/acer/acer-a3-a40-iconia-tab-10/hardreset/first-method/

Sorry for typo's.

Oh yeah, sorry, I had done that hard reset, that's what I was referring to when I said I'd restored it. I only just installed the weather app in the last couple weeks, and this time change thing has been happening for almost a year, so it's definitely not that. Thanks for the help, by the way! I'm going to post up at the Acer help forums. Maybe it's something to do with the operating system? If I get a fix, I'll try and come back and post it in case others have the same prob and come across this thread.

No help from Acer forums. This problem is all over the net, and at the Acer site it's quite often in reference to this specific tablet, so I'm going to assume it's an issue with the tablet. Gonna wander off for now, but if I do ever find a fix will try to make my way back here to post it.
