GPU can't detect monitor's native resolution because of VGA to HDMI adapter

Hello everybody, I recently bought a GTX 1050 TI (Asus version) and HDMI (Male) to VGA (Female) adapter since my new GPU doesn't support VGA. Everything worked like a charm until yesterday when I noticed my screen turn blurry, I've seen many posts on the internet and determined it's because my resolution is actually bigger that it should be. However, my resolution was 1360x768 (as it should be), I reinstalled GPU drivers and also deleted drivers for my monitor because Windows detected it as Generic PnP monitor (Which was not the case with my previous GPU), so I re-downloaded manually drivers for my Samsung SyncMaster 943. Although problem was not solved fully, image was somewhat clearer and I can bare with that. However, another problem started happening since then, whenever i boot my PC, whenever I start a game, or Alt-tab from it to desktop I get message from my monitor "Not Optimum Mode, Recomended mode 1360x768", as if my resolution is not 1360x768 (But it is, in display settings, and in Nvidia control panel). I have noticed though, that in Advanced display settings it says that "Signal resolution" is 1920x1080. Could this be the problem? Is it that my GPU can't properly detect my monitor's native resolution so it sends "default" resolution 1920x1080 to my monitor? Is there any way to fix this apart from buying new monitor that supports HDMI? I hope there is since everything worked well until yesterday. Thanks in advance!
