Hello, I have an asrock z68 extreme 3 gen 3 motherboard. I changed the cooler from an deep cooler gammax 400 to an Hyper 212 evo. When I went to boot the pc after the install, I got an dr.debug code 55 on boot up. Didn't even make it to the bios screen. (memory not installed.)

The computer shut off, I rebooted it and cleared the cmos and got the same error.. Only few things I remember doing was, taking out one of the dimms when installing the new cooler to avoid bumping it and damaging a slot. I removed one ram stick from the first slot(a1), and left the rest in the other slots. I also left the cpu in the pc when installing the cooler, so I don't think I bent a pin.

---------

I was mixing ram. The ram I was using Mushkin DDR3 and g.skill ram. ..BUT.. I didn't have any issues running my pc this way. I ran gta5 once, picked up around 10fps it used 11gigs of ram without the game or pc crashing. I ran the pc this way for months, and it was perfectly fine. I recently tried all of the ram sticks on another machine, all of them working perfectly fine. As of right now, dual channel mode does not work. I have to run my memory in a1 and a2 in order to have 8gigs of ram. Both were 8gb kits of ram. And were high quality too. I didn't have the money to buy identical sets of ram at the time.

I recently changed my cpu to an i7 2600 because I got it for free, and that didn't fix the problem either.

If anyone knows why this is happening, it would be great to know. Thank you!

Solution
Although you mixed the ram, can you not see it at all in BIOS?
What normally happens is you can't mix Voltages... but speed can be lowered to the lowest common speed.
Or just bad luck. I had a machine where I couldn't use all my Ram, but in my other machine I could.
I understand you have 32GB, but can you get 16 or 24 GB working? Is it essential to have 32GB? If you order more and it doesn't work, you'll be annoyed.

Doesn't resetting the cmos reset the ram timings? I have tried all the possible ways of configuring the ram in the pc, it still wouldn't post. But if I one ram stick in the first slot, it boots to windows just fine. The last 2 slots, don't work at all. If I put one working stick of ram in b1 for example, I would get an code 55 memory not installed error. The voltage is set to 1.55v in the bios for the ram. I just loosened my cooler a bit and still doesn't work. The AIO cooler was a huge pita to install because my case blocks the rear screws to hold it on. I don't really feel like removing it any time soon so I'm hoping a bent pin isn't the cause of this. I did replace the i5 2500k to an i7 2600, and the problem was the same.

Here is the photos, I'm clue less of why this isn't working. I am thinking of buying more ram I just want to make sure i get dual channel/all of the slots working again. I don't have the other set of ram in the photos but they are the g skill trident x 4x8gb kit i mixed with the mushkin ram.
