Hey guys new to Toms.

Building a new system.

Looking to get a i5 7500 and a gtx 1070 8gb. I will also be getting a 1080p 27 inch 144hz display. I'm wondering if this will bottleneck my system. I'll also have 16gb ddr4 running at 3000 mhz, and an ssd. will be playing mostly fps games, rainbow 6, pubg, overwatch, csgo.

Thanks!

Lol... there's no shortage of opinions on this forum. If you don't want to upgrade the motherboard too, the best option would be to go with the i7-7700. But at 1080p, the i5-7500 shouldn't do too bad at 144hz. But the 4C/8T CPU would do better.

Get a i5 - 8400 its $3 cheaper and slightly better

Getting an 8th generation processor means a new motherboard as well. You must take that into account.

if the cost difference isnt huge it would probably be worth it. CPUs are the hardest thing to upgrade in a build
