Hello everyone!

A little while ago my computer components had to be put into another computer case. The old one had issues that couldn't be fixed. Ever since the front panel isn't working in my new case, only 1 USB port is working instead of 2 and my audio and mic are not detected by my computer nor do they work properly. The mic port is basically non existent and the front audio port is playing really bad sound quality. This was right after I switched computer cases. The reason I detect this now is because I was under the impression that my headset was just broken (it's a really old thing) and I never needed more than 1 USB port in the front. Now that I finally bought I new headset well.. yeah..problem isn't fixed.

I reinstalled realtek audio but my computer won't detect that anywhere either. I used to have the Realtek audio manager but after reinstalling it it's nowhere to be found.

I am not great with computers, so I have no clue what to do now.

Speakers and audio ports are working fine from the back-panel, it's just the front that isn't working properly.

Any help would be appreciated!

Specs:

Intel core i5-4690K
16 gig RAM
Nvidia Geforce GTX 980
MSI z97 Gaming 5

So out of your front IO to the motherboard there are a few cables coming out. Power+/-, Audio, USB, LED +/- . They are small 1 pin cables except USB one, and they all have a specific place where they go in the motherboard. So take the manual of the Motherboard and find where each goes - and see if its like that in the manual. If it is we can go a step further :)

Really sorry for my late reply, I spend most of the afternoon checking wires and making sure everything was plugged in correctly. I removed the cables and re-plugged them, by the time I was done it was quite late and I needed a break. I can however say for sure that the cables are plugged in correctly and I got my realtek audio manager to work again too. The problem of the front panel not working still persists however. :/
