Frequent ping spikes when connected wirelessly

Laptop: ASUS X555Lj

Connection: Problem with wireless, no problem with ethernet.

Router: HUAWEI HG633

Distance from router: ~ 2 metres

Type of internet: I think it's DSL

I'm getting frequent ping spikes when connected wirelessly to my home network. I've pinged data to my router using the cmd command /ping [ip] -n 200 -l 65500 and it has shown the ping spikes of 1000-2000ms every 2 minutes or so. This does not happen when connected through an ethernet cable to the router. I've also pinged other laptops wirelessly to the router and this does not happen. Therefore, I assume this must be a problem specifically with my laptop/connection to the network.

The following link is to the screenshot of the cmd ping result: https://imgur.com/a/K8y1aiJ

Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.

I don't know that this really is a problem or is it just the inherent nature of WiFi and the large buffer size you are using. Because of the large buffer size, you are sending 45 packets per ping (well, depends on your MTU). The fragmentation, reconstruction, buffering, etc all lead to the higher than normal ping time to begin with (regular ping would give you a 1-2 ms ping time to your router ... well, it should) and then a single error that forces a retransmit is going to drive that ping time much higher. WiFi, by it's nature, is error prone. So, is this a problem or are you just seeing normal behavior? I know other laptops don't do this or do it less often ... maybe they have a better antenna or you were just lucky ... I'm not sure.
