I'm a video editor and I just got this pc a week ago
I7 8700k
corsair h115i (using its pre-applied thermal paste)
32 gb g.skill rgb 3000mhz
msi z370 gaming m5
msi 1080ti gaming x trio
nzxt h700i mid tower case

and I notice while rendering and all fans set to maximum that the cpu temp is nearly 90c without OC, Is that normal?!
(room temp is 30-35c)
Please anyone help me!

Finally guys,
It was all about voltage and my bios version was pushing my cpu voltage up to 1.42 at 4.3 ghz!!
Once I updated the bios the voltage become normal at 1.22 with 4.3 ghz of speed and my temp become around 72-78c

I'm super happy with that temp, thanks guys!

I'm getting one in the next few days and I will make my room temp around 24c then testing cpu temp again.

do you have any noting about CPU voltage and that stuff because I'm still a noob at this point

Well each individual CPU reacts differently to various amounts of voltage. If you want the lowest temps possible, you can do some testing to find the lowest stable voltage. For typical lower vcore voltage to give decent enough temps you will want to stay below 1.3V, so 1.25V would be a round-a-bout place to start. You could start at 1.25V and lower by .01V and test for however long you think it's stable, and keep going until you find instability.

Going over 1.3V is for stock or overclocking, typically keeping it at or below 1.35V for modest OC, and 1.4V for more extreme OC (which is usually done only after a delid + liquid metal situation).

thanks for answering but I don't wanna try deliding because I'm afraid of damaging something and I can't even get the deliding tool in my country so I will try to learn undervoltaging and see if this solution works

Thanks, I will try to learn as much as I can about undervoltaging and I will check if that makes a different

Thanks guys!

8700K will run hot when it is going full out.

What is your idle temperature?
If the cooler is working well, I would expect 10-15c. over ambient.

What is your radiator and fan setup?
If you mount the radiator to take in fresh air from outside, the cpu will be cooled better but your motherboard and graphics components will get heated air to work with.

I think your best setup is to have the three front fans as intakes and mount the radiator at the top exhausting air out of the case.
Your cpu will not cool as well, but the rest of your parts will do better.
Increasing the rpm of the front intake fans will provide more airflow, but at the cost of more noise.

Lastly, do not worry too much about 90c.
The processor will slow down or shut off if it detects a dangerous temperature.
That is about 100c.

Yep, that can be a problem when Auto is selected by default. Some bios can auto-set voltage unusually high. It's sometimes best to set a manual voltage that is more reasonable for temps.

Glad you got it figured out.
