Will your gpu take damage if pc crashes due to no more VRAM while playing games?

So I have a gtx1060 3gb and played forza horizon 3 on high settings. Then my pc crashed and said it ran out of VRAM and it would restart the pc for after it collects info. And that made me wonder since the VRAM was full and the game tried to load in more does that mean my gpu’s mem chips took damage? And could it have taken damage from heat? Also after the pc rebooted I heard a slight buzzing noise not sure if that’s a problem.

Solution
A buzzing sound has nothing to do with the video RAM.

Turn down the game graphics setting to lower video memory usage.

You can use MSI Afterburner to check maximum RAM usage in games, however, if your PC reboots that info is lost.
Pcs don't crash from running out of vram or else we would see reports of it 24/7. Nothing you can do within a game can damage hardware unless something is physically wrong. It will shut off the pc before it got too hot.

Use bluescreenview to get the bsod info.
