My question is simple and came into my mind suddenly, how it can work as the 6 pin cannot deliver the power of a 8 pin so how the converter works with a psu having a 6 pin connector which can only give 75w and we convert it into a 8 pin, it will surely fit in gpu's 8 pin port but will the 6 pin give 140?

Technically, you can use it if the card does not actually need all that power - some GPUs provide 8 pin connector, while in reality they pull significantly less than 150w from this connector. Regardless, this is not a safe practice in any case, and you better have PSU with required connectors.
