Does a GTX 1080 fit a normal pc?

I really wanna upgrade my PC with a gtx 1080, but it says its 28cm. And that barely fits my pc. So I saw this gtx 1080 mini, but ofcourse it was really small. My 2 questions are:
1: how can i possibly fit a gtx 1080 in my pc (i need about 1 centimeter more for it to fit).
2: Is a gtx 1080 mini just as good as a gtx 1080?

If a full size 1080 is questionable in terms of fit for your case, you only have two choices: Upgrade your case to a larger one or look for a cut down (mini) card. Bear in mind that you will likely sacrifice some cooling on the smaller card when compared to it's larger brothers, but that shouldn't be too much of an issue so long as you've got good, unobstructed pathways for air in your case.
