Pre-built PC form factor?

So I have this Lenovo pre-built pc [IdeaCentre IC510-15IKL] and I want to upgrade it,I want to upgrade my motherboard first but I want to know the case form factor for the new motherboard or do I need to buy a new case?

So it's probably proprietary...meaning not fully compliant in all ways...but you might start with mini-ITX as a possible and plan on making some modifications to the case to get it to fit. Especially if you have to move stand-offs to make add-in cards align with the slots in which case you'll probably also have to cut out the I/O opening so it will work.

These computers often have barely adequate power supplies so if your plan is to seriously upgrade processing power pay very close attention to that: you could easily exceed it's capacity even with a mini-ITX board.

Also, it might be mATX sized but i think you'd have more luck making things fit if you start smaller rather than trying to shoe-horn a bigger board in too. And if it does happen to be perfectly mATX compliant then a mini-ITX will also fit perfectly. Unless you want to use the additional card slot an mATX can offer you'll not miss the larger board.
