I want to ask if modern Slim 3.5 inch hdd exist ? I mean by modern , Fast , 128MB cache , 7200 RPM drives. Capacity 2-3TB ..

I understand That we have upto 12 TB HDD today in standard 3.5 inch , which means they can make slim ones 1/3 height for 3TB using fewer platters .. but I could not find any.

The 3.5" drives are all the same "thickness" for mounting standardization.
1 platter or 4 inside, the box is the same size.

Real solution ? 2.5 inch HDD are not reliable and are very slow compared to modern 3.5 inch ones . unless you get SAS 2.5 drive then you will have to pay 5 times the price per TB plus a SAS controller .

19mm height is good for me , but it seems they are not making them 2-3TB ... only upto 1TB ..

Thanks for the detailed Wiki site. This is what I call real answer.
