Hi Everyone –

I have an older PC and want to use it to drive a WQHD (2560 x 1440) display for photoshop lightroom and productivity apps. Plus a second WQHD display or, at a minimum 1920 x 1080. I think that means I need a graphic card that has at least one displayport connector. I don’t do gaming or video editing so that type of graphics acceleration is not needed. 60Hz at WQHD is fast enough for me.

The key system parameters are:
- Intel DP67DE motherboard with Intel I3-2100 CPU and 16 GB RAM
- Bios version 0064 (the latest version is 0082)
- 430 watt PSU. The power supply drives two case fans, one SSD, one SATA HD, one DVD r/w drive, 16 GB of RAM and the graphics card. The other slots are all empty.

I bought a Firepro W2100 card on eBay, thinking that would work with my system and BenQ display, but I get a black screen and the “no signal” message from the display. I don’t even get the usual splash screen before windows starts to load.

So my questions are:
1.) Is the Firepro w2100 compatible with the MOBO I have? The firepro card spec is here: https://www.amd.com/en-us/products/graphics/workstation/firepro-3d/2100# and the MOBO spec is here: https://ark.intel.com/products/50089/Intel-Desktop-Board-DP67DE . The bios update release notes are here: https://downloadmirror.intel.com/27735/eng/BA_0082_ReleaseNotes.pdf

2.) Do I need to update the bios for this to work?

3.) If the firepro W2100 is not compatible with my MOBO then I would appreciate any suggestions for a reasonably priced graphics card that can drive two WQHD displays given that I don’t do gaming or video editing.

Many thanks!
