Over clocking old core2duo

i have an old core 2 duo e8400 in my brother's pc i cant over clock it when I go any thing above above 343 which is 3.08GHZ speed the pc wont boot up i tried to pump up the voltage to 1.35v still wont boot and also tried 1.36 no thing changed still wont boot up , i did see some ppl over clock the same cpu to 3.8~4.2 ghz and i cant go above 3.08ghz the mobo is g41 s2pt and the psu is 500 watts if some one could help me will really appreciate it

Hey, which RAM are you using? When OCing E8400 (nice CPU I used to own as well) the resulting CPU ratio = FSB x multiplier.
If possible please stick to even FSB and adjust the CPU clock via the multiplier.
E.g. if DDR2 800 is installed, go for FSB 400 x multiplier 8 = 3,2Ghz. This will already give you a nice performance increase.
DDR2 667 might explain why you can hardly achieve more than 3Ghz. ;)

my ram is 1333 ddr3 what FSBxMultiplier should i use ?

it turned to be
whether or not i lowered my Multiplier my pc just wont boot up at any thing above FSB 343 could be Mobo issue or limitation idk

my mobo is G41 S2PT and i tried lower multiplier but still wont boot if my FSB is higher than 343
