Powering LED strip with PC

I have recently started caring more about the aesthetics of my setup, so I would like to install a strip of LED's under my desk, but I don't want it to always be on. If I buy a 12v AC/DC cable, and hook it up to my PC, will the LED's turn off when I shut down the PC, or will there still be some power flow going through it? Thanks.

"12v AC/DC cable" that means an adapter ? That would not control LED strips with computer. Only way would be to connect LEDs from PSU in the computer, MOLEX or SATA connector to LEDs wold also turn lights off/on with the computer.

Not if it's not connected to PC. Turning them on and off is a feature.
