HI I would like to ask on what would be best for me in terms of upgrading my current setup mainly for gaming

Proc: AMD A8-5600K
GPU: GTX 960 PALIT
RAM: 8 GB
HDD: Generic 1 TB

I was considering upgrading my proc first because it's the oldest component of my setup but then I saw a post somewhere stating that the proc isn't really important when it comes to gaming. Thus I considered maybe buying an SSD instead and save up the rest of my money to buy another GPU

ok 280 dollars thats about 15,000 Piso right ? that would put the I5-8400 out of range for that budget
so I looked at PCEXPRESS web site...
you can for that money get a Ryzen 3 1300X for 6300ph, combined with a Gigabyte GA A320M motherboard for 3350ph, and 1x8 GB DDR4-2400 for 5050ph that leaves you 300ph on hand. + selling your current cpu/motherboard/ram

system looks like this

CPU https://pcx.com.ph/product/amd-ryzen-3-1300x-unlocked-quad-core-processor/
MB https://pcx.com.ph/product/gigabyte-ga-a320m-s2h-amd-a320-motherboard/
RAM https://pcx.com.ph/product/g-skill-ripjaws-v-8gb-1x8gb-ddr4-2400mhz-f4-2400c15s-8gvr-memory-module/

passmark compares the 2 cpu as follow...

Whatever you seen is very false, Processors are very important when it comes to gaming these days. I would suggest upgrading that a8 to an 8th gen i5 if you can afford it, with that you will need to get a new motherboard socket LGA 1151. Sense that processor used DDR3 memory unfortunately you will have to get DDR4 memory for the new motherboard.

If you're trying to save money you could always go with AMD I just always lean toward Intel cause I prefer them.

You dont need a new GPU the 960 is still very relevant and powerful, you need a new processor.

Oh thank you very much, was considering upgrading to an i7 but yeah maybe I'll just buy an i5 and buy new RAMS, and maybe an SSD if I can afford it.

Also does the motherboard matter very much if I have no plans of overclocking? or can I just buy any motherboard?
