I currently have 150mbs internet with Rogers in Canada and my router is placed in the middle floor of my house. unfortunately the wifi and especially the 5G connection is bad everywhere but the middle floor.
The wireless card I am using in my PC is the Asus Wifi AC1900 PCIe Adapter. It works great but doesn't exactly extend the range to my liking.
The router/modem that roger has provided us with is the Hitron CODA-4582. I know its probably piece of garbage but thats what they supplied us with. I've tried looking into the settings but my networking knowledge only goes so far.
I've tried the tp-link AC1200 WiFi extender - Its worked for maybe a few days giving me over 100mbs speed on the 5g connection and then it just fell off giving me like 40mbs a few days down the road. So I returned it.
A friend suggested to buy another router, so i purchased the D-Link AC1200 Dual band router. The router only gives around 50mbs right next to the router. So i didn't even bother testing it with my pc.
If anyone has any suggestions to help me BOOST my WiFi range it would be great, literally willing to try anything at this point, im pretty fed up.
(SIDE NOTE: im still living with my parents so it is their house, I have tried convincing them for literally YEARS to let me run a wire but with success, so please dont suggest moving the router or running a wire cause i cant)
