Arcade Cabinet from Old Xbox 360?

Hey all,

Was cleaning around the house the other day and found an old Xbox 360. It boots up fine and seems to work perfectly. I have no real use for an Xbox 360 but it would be a shame to just recycle a perfectly working machine, so I got the idea to maybe try using it to make a retro arcade cabinet. Anybody have any experience with this?

Ideally what I would like to do is see if I can wipe the proprietary software on the machine and then install the RetroPie OS to emulate arcade games from the 360. Is this even possible? I've done RetroPie builds on the RaspberryPi before and this seems theoretically possible.

The other option I though of was just buying a classic arcade games disc for the 360 and running it directly on the factory software that way (but what is the fun in that?).

Anybody have any tips or suggestions for me? Seems like a nice hobby project and I'd like to iron out some details before I start with it.

Thanks!

I already have a raspberry pi that I use as an emulator. I just figured this would be a fun project to do. Gonna try and see if there are any videos or tutorials or something floating around after work. I may just trade the xbox in for some cash and then buy another Raspberry Pi or something lol. JTAGing the 360 looks like way too much of a hassle.
