Hi Guys, I want to check with you. I have intel core i7 2600k for over 6 years then recently I got errors when restarting pc in bios that heat is over the maximum (it never shut down the pc) in Bios it stated approximately 92 Celsius but it let me continue back to windows. I checked the hardware monitor and minimum temperature was 72 across CPU maximum over 90. So first I cleaned dust, (not much of it) doesn’t helped, then I went and bought this thermal paste https://www.alza.cz/EN/thermal-grizzly-kryonaut-5-55g-1-5ml-d4798716.htm scraped old one which was dry and I guess based on silicone back then and applied this one. The base temperature when in windows and not playing dropped from 72 to 48-52 No longer have problem with overheating error after restart in bios but my CPU fan is damaged (the passive heatsink see the picture) and when I’m playing the maximum temperature is still 90+- but it will drop very fast after I stop playing. What do you think I should do? Replace the CPU heatsink or that’s not the issue?
My case is NYXT Phantom 530 One big frontal fan, cpu fan on big heatsink and rear fan.
