Is my GPU dead?

I have used my GPU which is an MSI R9 290X Lightning (simply called a beast amongst the gamers for its power) for mining Ethereum and even now I do it.
During the winter it used to work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, very stably with a Core Clock of 1110 MHz and Memory Clock of 1250 MHz with a fan speed of 75% during the winter but it seems the old days are gone!
Now we are in summer and the weather is of course hot but after a few months of working with such extreme capacities I have noticed it has a dropped in performance. Now I can only mine the same Ethereum with a Core Clock of only 900 MHz (under clocked) and a Memory Clock of 1250 MHz with a fan speed of 90% and I can never say it is as stable as it was with the above mentioned settings during the winter. In fact the situation is more horrible than that because I cannot even play a simple online flash video on YouTube without it crashing instantly!
No underclocking works anymore! With or without underclocking it crashes when it plays a simple video...
Even when I was typing this text in Microsoft Word and as you know Microsoft Words uses a little bit of GPU power, it crashed!
I do nothing with my GPU except a simple online video playback and it crashes and this video card is a beast!
Under normal conditions it can simultaneously play 100 instance of such videos without feeling a thing!
Does it mean my GPU is completely destroyed now?
I am almost an expert in GPU overclocking so I know all the settings. As said in the past I had so much success but not anymore and no matter what I do, it always results in a crash, even when doing a simple typing in Windows!
It is very annoying!
But why I write this message to you?
Because as said I can still almost stably (If don’t touch the PC) mine Ethereum with a Core Clock of 900 MHz as was mentioned above for days without crashing! but with a simple 480p video it crashes even when underclokced!
So what is exactly wrong here?
Does a simple typing or a 480p YouTube video needs more resources than mining Ethereum?
what should I do?

Solution
So. Is your issue with the German summer heat, or the German culture? If the summer heat, be glad that you aren't in Texas! We hit 108F today (That's 42+C for you European types)! If it's the culture, all I can say is "Have another beer, and deal with it or move!"

With due respect, both of your answers were not helpful.
You simply told me “to buy a new GPU”.
That is I think I knew already? Didn’t I?!
But when I ask a question on tomshardware I expect some technical insight and help.

Respectable
The truth is that you have burnt out your GPU by mining, all electronic parts have a working life, by mining you have basically worn it out. My car engine analogy is true, that's the price you pay for using a GPU for mining, it's a 5 year old card that's done it's time no tech reply really needed.

At least you provided some technical stuff. It is interesting to know.
As said it is not impossible to even mine Ethereum with 1100 MHz if the temperature is cold. The problem is that as soon as the temperature reaches 73 degrees Celsius, it crshes. That is why I can’t go near the 1110 MHz limit. I am living in Germany. Here people don’t use air conditioners in homes. Strange stupid German culture but Germans mostly don’t know what an air conditioner is and as said the weather is hot. We live very naturally in Germany. The weather never experiences high fluctuations during the year. But as said we live “in the weather” whatever it is… even most old cars don’t have an air conditioner in Germany. I never understood it, and maybe I am angry over some of German traditional cultures but as said Germans don’t use air conditioners and back to my problem, very unfortunately I can’t get my room temperature to 15 degrees as how it was during the winter.it is now 30 degrees and anyway as soon as I get to the 73 degrees on the GPU it dies out. I could buy an air conditioner but in apartments there is no way to let the air conditioner exhaust fluids out…
I may feel very angry for massive stupid German traditions but don’t forget these people are mostly simple manufacturing workers making all the industrial stuff the West needs from cars to guns… they mostly earn little and all are workers and have no minds of themselves to advertise or sell their own products and other Western countries help them for it but they are all manufacturing specialists..
They are indeed stupid in other walk of life…
I mean this is only one of their stupidity which if you let them they start to analyze why no one needs air conditioners in German weather and make you go crazy…
They think if the temperature reaches a maximum of 30 degrees in a country, you never need an air conditioner…

Well, now that you finished your rant, back to your issue. At the very least, you need to clean the heat sinks on your video card. As dust accumulates there the ability to transfer heat is diminished. You may even need to remove them, and re-apply thermal paste.

I personally think the problem is the damn heat wave in Germany.
Man, here is so warm and for me who comes from a country where in winter we could walk naked in -17 degrees, I am dying in 30 degrees in Germany without air conditioner. I bought an old German car from Opal and it seems all their older cars have no air conditioner by default here…
How god can make Germans so stupid?
but god is fair and I believe even though it didn’t give them a working mind on every other walk of life, it gave them the passion to build stuff for Americans and other European nations which they can manage and sell for good easy money for them otherwise as some work line stupid workers whom understand nothing except where the wires go and how the assembling is done, these people need constant watching and corrections..
I have found Germans fully stupid people!
I mean they have no damn air conditioner…
Nowhere!
Nothing of the kind…
Have you seen the movie Borat?
Lots of stenotypes were not shown in that movie notably showing an air conditioner to a German!
Because Germans have not seen it!
some of you may say: “but Germans have free movement rights in all the West and they have seen air conditioner in other countries and some of the cars they make must have air conditioner for the international consumers and so they have indeed saw them but I would say still the majority of Germans have not travelled and the majority don’t exactly know what an air conditioner is for sure!
And I am dying now!
Today I wished my death from god due to this heat here!
I took my car and went out for only one hour!
I really saw the hell!
I can’t take this massive hot weather and the remerging Germans saying:
“But in Germany the weather don’t get very warm or cold and we don’t need air conditioner” and these thoughts were swirling in my brain and making me suffer in the heat more!
When a German starts talking I go to the exploding level due to anger and when a non German says “but Germans are very disciplined assembly workers and make such good cars” I get even more angry because one has to distinguish between a manager and his workers:
A manager is an American! He sells the Mercedes Benzes too!
A worker is a German!
A fully stupid one without anything in life except assembling what the American wants!
I have no respect for Germans, I am sorry for some of you who have! period!

Thank you very much for your advice.
I am from an old generation of computer users. 20 years ago, as a kid I remember there was advertisement for computer RAMs which had “lifetime warranty”. You would buy a RAM and forever if it ever broke down, it would be replaced. Very normal warranties back then.
So I don’t think if a GPU works for 6 months in extreme conditions anything can go wrong and so I don’t think I ever need to stop mining or change my GPU.
That is why I didn’t like the suggestion to do so by people here. It was just not right from my decades’ long experience! In so many years I have had only 1 hard disk breaking down so far!
People like me will continue to live in this world until we die and new generations “who use computer equipment with care” are replaced! It just won’t go into us older people’s minds to not pressure these equipment to the extreme!
As I said I believed firmly it has something to do with the heat in Germany!
After reading your advice to clean the heat sink I cleaned the PC which looked like this:
http://www.engkrafcc.com/images/examples/dirty/1.jpg
Why it looked like that?
Because I had opened the case panel so it would not get very warm but simultaneously a lot of dirt had got there.
But man, previously I was talking about 68 degrees temperature for crashing! Wasn’t this so low?
As soon as it reached 68 degrees and it would crash! But why?
Now after cleaning the pc and replacing back the PC case side panel all the thermodynamics aspects become scientifically clear to me!
Note that the pervious temperature readings were useless!
It would read 68 degrees while the PC case side panel was open but in the sensitive parts of the GPU the temperature was much hotter. The 68 degrees was due to the case being open only! The thermometers there would read 68 but it was not exactly so! But after closing the computer’s case, look at the following picture to see what was the temperature readings with the above mentioned under clocking settings:
https://image.ibb.co/eBk748/Untitled.png
That is a constant 78 degrees!!! and I fully expect a healthy MSI R9 290x Lightening to crash at anything above this temperature…
With these settings I am earning around 20 Euros per month which is transferred to my bank account:

https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/calculator/eth?HashingPower=25&HashingUnit=MH%2Fs&PowerConsumption=3600&CostPerkWh=0&MiningPoolFee=1

and is better than nothing. Meanwhile I can continue working with my PC as normal!
As the winter soon arrives my profit increases again!
