I have a PC which has a 500gb NVMe M.2 drive and then just a normal 256gb sata SSD drive.
I've installed Windows 10 on the 500gb and Windows 7 on the 256gb. When I need to boot to the 256gb I just choose the boot menu from the bios when booting and choose the 256gb to boot Windows 7. I'm not booting with a boot loader as NVme M.2 drives and SSD Sata drives are two different things. Bootloaders probably don't support such a setup?
Something I have noticed is that when I boot Windows 7, Windows always wants to check the drive and check it for consistancy. The same happens with the NVMe M.2 drive - when I booted windows 7 and shut it down and Boot windows 10 then Windows wants to check the NVMe disk - as if there are errors/problems on the disk.
Perhaps I am damaging ? the drives using them in this fashion because Windows always wants to check and fix the drives when I boot different operating systems. Maybe it is not supposed to work this way? Is there a better way of dual booting with both drives?
