I own this gaming laptop for a few years and been running into performance issues lately and opened task manager. Then, I noticed that I have 160 processes running in my background! Most of them are some kind of dumb services.. Any fix for this or something?https://imgur.com/a/NDVNrvq

Was that for windows 10? I might accept that for 7 but even that seems a bit lower than average. 10 simply has more because they separate processes unlike previous windows versions. It may look worse that there are higher number but it's actually more efficient. With just chrome open I have 130 processes and 45k handles. I don't run any extra stuff but I don't turn anything off either. But performance issues would have to do with usage and not these numbers because you could have double and they could all just be idling.
My own Win10 Pro install has 202 processes, and 89k 'handles', which are memory management features/reallocations you can do nothing about...

My opinion, nothing to see here...as long as you see nothing mysterious in Task Manager.

A quick pass with Defender and Malwarebytes Antimalware should reassure you nothing is amiss.

Then why do some people say that 20-25k handles and 60 processes max is good for gaming? thats weird
