Alright so i just built a brand new computer and here first off are the specs and components of my computer.
--Z370 AORUS Ultra gaming 2.0 motherboard (updated to latest BIOS firmware after installation)
--Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1080Ti 11g Xtreme Edition (copper back plate) ((updated to nvidias newest firmware)
--2X Viper 3200mhz DDR4 8gig RAM sticks
--CX850M Corsair Powersupply
--Intel i7 8700 LG1151 chipset
--Samsung U28E590 UHD 4K monitor
all these components are absolutely brand new handled with care upon installation and fired up first try no warm ups.
now the problem that i'm having is that every single time i load a game
-Fortnite
-GTA V
-Raft
-World of Warcraft
-Dead by daylight
-Bioshock
-MINECRAFT
hell ANY game it doesn't matter how graphically demanding they are they crash either
A. loading up the game from the title screen
or
B. upon entering the game and moving 2 feet forward or any direction.
i downloaded EVGA precision X-oc and MSI afterburner to look at my specs as things were happening.
now according to the manufacturer the BOOST clock of the card is suppose to reach 1748mhz and the stock clock is suppose to be at around 1620mhz or so Even when there is absolutely NOTHING going on on my computer except maybe the Internet browser up. my GPU clock sits at 1607mhz it doesn't drop to an idle position is constantly that high. Now i noticed upon entering the games i usually play the clock literally shot immediately past 2000MHz up to around 2085MHz and fluctuated back and forth between 1971-2080mhz.. that way past even the boost clock the card was rated at.. and shortly after that the game crashes..
i have managed to stop the crashing of the games by UNDERclocking my card -200mhz so it sits between the stock and boosted clock originally spec'd for the card.
i adjusted the fan curve to be aggressive so my temps sit at around 59-61 degrees C as this happens so the card isn't overheating by any means and thats with 7 -120mm Fans running in case.
now the problem is, i WANT to be able to overclock to high MHz and play games stable eventually when i push the liquid cooling and stuff but why is this happening to my card and there isnt a single overclock program turned on this is all STOCK? and i really dont want to underclock and undervolt my card just to be able to play.
