For years I have been using trendnet's TPL-408E/2K powerline adapter with no problems. Main unit is upstairs plugged in to router, adapter 1 is also in the same area powering another computer, and 3rd unit is downstairs powering my ps3. Recently, the downstairs unit has started losing connectivity. This has happened now on 2 occasions. I tried to re sync but no go. Interesting thing is that I can bring the downstairs unit upstairs and plug into my other computer and it works immediately. When I take the upstairs unit downstairs, it stops working.
If I plug either unit 2 or 3 into any outlet upstairs close to the main unit, power and PL LED light up. If I plug unit 2 or 3 down the hall upstairs like downstairs, only power LED goes on. As I mentioned, pressing sync button on main unit and then pressing sync on downstairs unit, does nothing. Only power LED starts blinking.
The first time it happened a few months ago, I was able to get it to work downstairs by using the utility program and adding in password for downstairs unit, but this method is not working this time.
Any help is appreciated..
