How to best set up my 4 hdds and optane memory

I have 4 hdds and a 16gb optane memory i was looking to set up my 160gb hdd 250gb hdd and 100gb hdd into a raid 0 than load my OS to it. Than use my 2tb hdd as storage. I am unsure what i should use the optane memory on the raid 0 or the storage? Would this even be a fast and smart build. I know that raid 0 can get messed up but i have a 1tb external i use for constant backups and a 32gb flash drice with all my drivers programs diffrent bios versions was thinking of partitioning it so i can use it for a win 10 install drive also but i still have a win 10 disk so its not a real rush.

Three 100+GB disks in RAID 0 sounds like disaster waiting to happen IMO. To be that small they all have to be 5 to 10 years old. They already have a lot of hours. Just let them go. Partition your 2TB disk so that you have a 200GB partition for C: and the rest for D: Then sell your Optane (IMO), add a few $$$ and get a 250GB NVMe SSD. Copy the 200GB partition to the NVMe and be done.

My plans to have a nvme ssd in my m.2 port and have my os loaded to it. Than have my 2tb hdd for storage and than oosted with optane but i wont be able to do that till i get a new mobo with a second m.2 port and what not do u think the 2tb partitioned and boosted with optane would be faster than what i suggested? Haha its scary how much and how old all my tech is xp. Just built a msi z370-a pro mobo 8th gen i7 8700 cpu 16gb ddr4 ram geforce gtx 1080 gpu and a 16gb optane memory and a 2 tb 7200rpm hdd so everything i got isnt compatable adly

Again, I don't have an Intel board (or an Optane) but this forum post from Intel seems to confirm my statement about not supporting secondary HDs -- https://communities.intel.com/thread/114013?start=0&tstart=0

160gb hdd 250gb hdd and 100gb hdd into a raid 0

Would this even be a fast and smart build
No.

Those 3 drives in a RAID 0 wastes a lot of space, and they are old. Old = prone to die soon. Add the RAID 0, and that's simply playing with fire.
Those 3 drives + RAID 0 = a 300GB of space.

Optane on the "storage" drive? Why bother? Unless you are accessing the same blocks of data all the time (unlikely), it gets read at regular HDD speed.
Optane is neither magic nor predictive.

What are the rest of the specs for this?

Current updates do allow Optane to be used on a secondary drive.
But generally....why would you?

Ty for the actual info . what specs would u like to know . and as far as playing with fire i love it and am a pyro and i am interested in it so its not a bother this is fun playing and learning and im soon to get a nvm.e ssd for my boot and os like u suggested so when i have that i figured use the optane on my 2tb hdd and partition half as a pageing file and half for storage maybe i worded my question wrong. Wich would have faster read and writes my 2tb 7200rpm hdd boosted with optane or the 3 hdds in raid 0 boosted and once i can figure that out its were im going to put my boot and os and have the other for storage

Specs, as in all the rest of the parts.
What will you be using this system for?

And this is why asking for the full parts list is important.

Your board has a single m.2 port.
So, either Optane or the NVMe drive.

Not both.

Personally, I'd much rather use that port for an NVMe drive, or even a SATA III m.2 SSD, vs the Optane thing.

So would u recomend me getting a dds for my sata port for my os and boot than keeping my hdd for storage and booste it with my optane or just get the nvme ssd and get rid of optane
Till i can get a new mobo

So this is were im ar rn tho i can atm get a nvme v nand m.2 250 ssd for my os and keep the hdd and lose the optane or get a v nand ssd for my other sata port and keep the optane and use it to boost the hdd and ssd the guy at vest buy is saying optanes faster n i should keep it and get the sata ssd and use the optane to load the os on i guess they updated the firmware and software more so u can use it as a regular ssd

There is so much wrong with that...

1. You can't use the Optane to "boost" both the HDD and SSD
2. Optane does not really provide any benefit for an SSD
3. You don't install the OS on it...it is simply a cache for an HDD. You have no control over what ends up on that Optane space.
