Please indicate what is your mobo and your current version of bios.
You can obtain the bios version with the CPU-Z program.

The BIOS update varies slightly from one brand to another. Some observations to take into account:

There is some risk in updating the bios, especially if done incorrectly. Make sure you fully understand what you are going to do. Do it with respect but without fear.

Read carefully the instructions regarding your mobo.

If you are using h110 h170 and z170 chipsets motherboards then update your bios with the skylake chip you are using and then you can just swap the chip for the kaby lake chip. And it will work just fine .

If planning on coffee lake skus then you will need a 300 series board .
