Hello!
Recently (3.5 months ago) I got a new Asus laptop (fx 553vd) with a i7 7700HQ and a gtx 1050. The main purpose of the laptop is my work, but since I'd like to play the occasional game on it I got an entry gaming one. So the games I have been playing recently on the laptop are Hollow Knight and Rocket League.
I noticed some fairly high max temperatures with RealTemp after some gaming sessions (high 80s) and I logged the temperatures to see what's going on. I noticed on the log that even though the majority of the time the temperature was in the lower 70s, there were some pretty sudden and high spikes, the biggest of which so far has been at 90 C. (the temperatures logged for 4 consecutive seconds were 72->78->90->70)
Should I be worried with so big and sudden temperature spikes? Could there be some problem with voltage or cooling? I can't reapply thermal paste since it would void the warranty. I plan on getting a cooling pad to use while gaming but haven't gotten one yet. Should I undervolt to be on the safe side?
