I currently made a thread asking this question, but with an i7 8700k, and got a lot of feedback and recommendations towards getting the new Ryzen 7 2700X. So, im studying architecture, I usually work with 3D software like SketchUp, Blender, Maya, Cinema 4D, After Effects and Autodesk. But at the same time, im an enthusiast gamer, which enjoys to play games like GTA V, Fortnite, Witcher 3, Destiny 2, Battlefield, Arma, and many games that require some graphics power, I usually game at 2k.
After the feedback on getting the Ryzen instead of the i7, I wanted to know if this system is good for all I want and future proof, is there's something important for me to know please tell me!
- AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
- Asus Strix X470-F
- Corsair Vengeance RGB 16GB 3200MHz

I love RGB lightning, that's why the MoBo and Ram have RGB. Also, I already have a Case, Psu (850W, totally useless) and hard drives.

If you use 3D Software, I suggest you to pick Ryzen 2700x, even 8700k OC to 5ghz Can't keep up with Multicore 2700x, Since the 3D Software using All core and Thread to finish the job. And also, if you want to 3D Software, i suggest you to pick 32Gb Ram, Because the power of 2700x might be more than 16 GB Ram. and Also NvMe SSD also matter.
and for gaming 2k, it still can goes up to 100 fps depend on your GPU.

Yup, that's what people have been telling me. At first I wanted the i7 no doubts, but after checking the performance and cores I believe the Ryzen is worth it, even on gaming, the i7 outperforms the Ryzen on gaming, but by very little, and there's a chance that in the future, games will be optimised for 8 core cpus, in that case it could outperform the intel. Also, im working with a GTX 1080.
