Hello community. I'm getting a new rig for 4K@60 fps gaming. Chose the Intel route, 8600K. Now when it comes to the board, I have come to 3 choices for my needs and budget -

  • ■ ASRock Z370 Gaming K6
    ■ Asus Z370 STRIX F gaming
    ■ ASRock Z370 Taichi
Now when it comes to aesthetics and RGB blingware, I couldn't care any less for them. All I see is pure performance gain in the hardware I'm buying. Now based on the following factors please help me choose a board-

  • 1. Ambient temperatures are quite high(30-40 degree Celcius) in my country
    2. Will be overclocking to 4.7GHz and above if board permits with a Noctua NH-D15S
    3. My understanding is that both ASRock boards have same MOSFETs, so same overclocking capabilities for the, right? correct me if I'm wrong.
    4. No M2 needs for me right now, they are too expensive for me.
    5. Front IO USB Type-C is not required as the Cooler Master H500 wont have a port for it I guess. But having it is an added bonus, not mandatory.

Thank you for your patience and time people. :)

My personal preference would be with the Asus board, been using their ROG line since the first gen intel cpus have come out and not a one has given me any fits with install or OC'ing.

I have built 2 systems back in the Gen 2 era with ASrock that gave me issues and have sworn them off for good. But thats just me, other people have great luck with ASrock.

So do you think the STRIX F will be fine overclocking to 4.7GHz over the years to come? I have also heard about the standard that Asus has set in the motherboard market, but ASRock is also coming off great in the recent years.
