Poor GTA IV performance

Is this through Steam? If so try make a shortcut and launch game from LaunchGTAIV.exe instead of launching it via Steam. This helped performance for me more so than using commands.

This game doesn't run well at high fps i noticed and animated cut scenes being recorded at 30fps can have a choppy look when fps was too high so i capped my frame rate. 30fps was too low for me during game play but 45fps was pretty good and cut scenes played normal. Try cap fps the same in your AMD software.

Did notice however,, the game's performance did improve as i progressed further.

my gpu usage doent do higher than 50 % 9sometimes it does) cpu 40% (btw gpu clock stays at peek but usage is just terrible

It is an older game. When it came out the best GPUS were a GTX 295 and Radeon HD 5970, these wer dual GPUs, or the GTX 285 and HD 5870 both which had only 1GB of VRAM. Your current GPU is vastly better and shouldn't be maxed out or even near maxed out when playing this game.

Its much like say Diablo 3. When it came out I had an HD 7970GHz OCed and could play it mostly maxed out at 1080P. Now I have a GTX 1080 and I play it at a DSR of 4K maxed out downscaled to 1080 with no issues.

and also i have allready tried commads -nomemrestrict -norestrictions and many others they helped a bit like 15 fps and less stutter but thats all

i play on high 1080p in heavy areas around nicos house and stuff i get 40-50fps in lighter areas 60fps-70fps and some stutter

its not on steam i i lauchit via gtaiv luacher
