Hello guys,

I have 2014 PC, with 4770k OCed at 4.5ghz @ 1.19v on Maximus VII Hero MB.

This is my RAM:
https://www.gskill.com/en/product/f3-2133c9d-16gxh
At the moment it works on 2133mhz @ 1.6v, not sure about the CAS (will check if it matters).

Also, my old EVGA GTX 780ti Dual Classified recently burned out and started showing artificial pixels (or something like that) so I had to buy Gygabite GTX 1080 G1 Gaming

If it matters, my PSU is EVGA 1000P2 (platinum certified).

Also, my case has good airflow - Thermaltake v71 (with removed docks, added 2 more fans- 1 button and 1 top and added additional dust filters). And I kinda keep my CPU temps under 70 degrees while stress testing for hours (during the summer).

The CPU cooler is Noctua NH-D14

Telling all these because it may matter for the RAM OC.

In my bios which I upgraded recently to the latest version shows, I can put the RAM at 2400 and even 2600 MHz. When I put it to 2400 and restart, my PC starts to turn on and off (after 1-2 sec) until I hard restart it or just turn it off with the power button.

So my question is, is it possible to run this ram, with these spec on 2400 MHz?

Thanks!

P.S I want to OC my ram as I saw and read about the FPS difference in specific cases between 2133 and 2400/2600 Mhz.

Ram chips are binned, and the better ones are sold as higher speed ram.
2133 will normally be as high as you can go.
Sometimes one gets lucky and can go higher.
The restarting is an indication that the motherboard is having difficulty with the ram setting.
Not to worry, your real app performance or fps will not be significantly different with faster ram.

IF you wanted to OC the ram you might get up to 2400Mhz but you have to up the timings (the cl 9-11-11-31-2N 1.6v ram you have).. you would more likely have to up the voltage some and up the timeings quite a bit to get faster.. I would not recommend it at all. but if you wanted to try you could.. but it will take some time.. you would have to up all the timings so its slower overall, then bump it to 2400Mhz and maybe even up the voltage.. thats where it can burn it out easily.. and the reason I say I would not do it with that system.

bro first of all overclocking ram will reduce you memory bandwidth.
overclocking RAM did not provide any benifit at all it will start stutter bcoz HDD to slow but PROCESSOR super fast only also dont forget virtual memory and shared GPU memory all these things are connected with RAM if over clock ram than you disturb hole pipe line
