Do I need to Buy Windows 10 again?

I'm upgrading my prebuilt Omen by HP 870 224. I'm getting a New MOBO and CPU and I was wondering if I have to buy Windows 10 again. I'm keeping my 1tb Hard Drive so I dont know If i plug that it and i just have to reinstall it or not. Thanks for the help!

DId the Hp come with Win 10 preinstalled?
If so, you probably do need to purchase a new OS. That is about the only case where it cannot be transferred to new hardware.

If this Win 10 was an Upgrade from a previous Win 7 or 8, then you can transfer it.
Read and do this before you change any parts:

However...
Licensing or no...your new motherboard will probably need a full reinstall. Chances are slim that it would simply "just boot up" in the new hardware.
