I have a modem/router which has 4 LAN ports. Port 1 goes to my desktop computer right next to it and port 2 goes to my Ethernet smart switch TL-SG1024DE. I then have all of my Ethernet coming out of the switch, I have just installed a CCTV which has a stand alone NVR and supports all my Cameras via POE. Which is the best way to structure this from an IP address, have an understanding of it, just need guidance. Thanks

You want to make sure the cams ips aren't conflicting with anything.
Check the DHCP lease table on your router and find 10 in a row that are free and use those.

If the switch is VLAN capable you could put all the cams on another subnet. If you can pw protect the cams and/or not concerned with someone getting to them from the LAN don't mess with that part.

My thought would be to use static IP's for the cameras.

Just for the record: how many cameras?

Use IP addresses outside of the available DCHP IP address range allocated to the modem/router. Reserve the camera static IPs using the camera's MAC.

Will be helpful if you wish to sometime remotely log in and view the cameras.
