I am New to Overclocking Please help me with Best Bios Settings with Awesome Performance.
I am using this system for Virtualization as well as Daily Computing :
Host OS : Win 10 Pro for Workstation
Guest OS using Vmware Workstation : (Latest Debian X86 & Win 7 Pro 32 Bit both of them at Same Time)
System Usage : 24*7 for Hosting (Not a Gamer)
CPU : i7 8700k
CPU Fan : Cooler Master Hyper 212 Led Turbo with two Pwm Fans full speed 1700rpm
Motherboard : Asus z370 Plus Gaming
Ram : Corsair Vengeance LPX 4GB 2400 MHZ in all 4slots (4Quantity)
Cabinet : Corsair Spec 5 with VS550 Power Suply & one DC Corsair Fan at front with full speed 1400 rpm
32 gb Intel M2 Optane memory
HDD : WD Carvair Green 1TB 5400 rpm

Chronological order of pics. Change from easy to advanced mode, also enable xmp.

Change from normal to expert mode.

Change the multiplier to the number you feel safe with(suggest not going over 48 before better cooling).

Set Loadline Calibration. This is used to prevent the cpu voltage level from dropping to stock levels per cpu instruction set.

This next one is something I do not really sure if it is necessary for you.

Hi, What do you want to overclock, RAM, CPU, GPU or everything?

For GPU: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-3735667/gtx-970-safe-overclock.html#21133296

For CPU: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-3742088/overclocking-cpu.html#21132068

For RAM: increase your DRAM frequency to 2666 or higher. It should be near CPU OC options.

Do these step by step, if you crash, lower your overclock. If by chance (rare), your system fails to boot, disconnect your PSU, press power button multiple times, wait for a minute, connect again, turn it on again. If it doesn't work reset your bios by taking out CMOS or using the built-in jumper.

You can learn more about voltage tweaking when you're more comfortable.

Last note, keep your max sustained temps below 85c. use CPUID HWMonitorPro. Consider installing some fans if your case doesn't have some.

Um...I am surprised that no one mentioned your cooling solution. To put it blatantly, it sucks. Sorry to say. If you are serious about overclocking your cpu on air, you need something much more robust. Such as this. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA68V6YA3005. With this cooler you will be able to use all 4 slots. Just make sure the memory is installed first.

Also there are plenty of video tutorials at YouTube. Here are a couple on how to overclock the cpu.

Remember though, not all cpu overclock the same, or for that matter can hit 5ghz. It does help for cooling to have a case with good airflow and filters to keep the dust out. Put a second fan in front. One in back for pushing warm air out, and since heat rises, one up top also pushing warm air out.

Got 2700 Benchmark Score via Intel Extreme Tuning Utility . Is it Ok . CPU Voltage is about 1.35.
i Set Sync all core at 50.
Windows panel showing both freq as 3.7 ghz & 3.7ghz but am confused cuz intel say its 4.7 turbo boost supported then why it is not showing 4.7 in second frequency at windows panel.

It beats stock, enough for medium overclocking. He also said "Virtualization as well as Daily Computing", he would be better off getting AIO water cooling with 360mm radiator when he tries heavy OC.

He should also add more fans to his chassis if it's running with only 1 or 2 fans.

You sure you saved your bios. Double check again. Turbo means auto overclocking cores. 1 core to 4.7, 2 core to 4.6 and ...

Also, change your power plan to 'performance' from the control panel if you haven't done also.

ALSO, 50 is too high, start with 47.

also none of the videos solved best performance with best results.
system becomes unstable screen flickers after a couple of minutes & when tried to stress cpu or memory system crash as well as benchmark analysis system crashes too.
i think this forum is of no use for me as overclockers.net is a good forum & so many expert overclockers are assisting me with live assistance.

There's not much difference between per core and sync.

Disable power saving options like Eco mode or Cool'n'Quiet. They can interfere with overclocking.

First off, if your going to do a medium overclock, you may as well not do one. Second, some people are not comfortable AIO. Third, a medium overclock would be in the range or 45ghz. Considering, 47ghz is the turbo boost for that cpu, and 45ghz boost 3 cores already, you would not see much of a difference. Really, the lowest logical overclock for this chip is 4.8ghz. However some people can't even get it above 4.7ghz

These cpu run very hot. Under heavy load temps would be running into the high 80s and possibly 90s celcius with that 212. While yes, the max operating for the cpu is 100c. Even so running it at these temps on a constant basis is not good for it. Most experts at overclocking prefer mid 70s tops, though under 70 an is an even better idea.

Though I have a different mb I will make some bios pics to show you how I got my 8600k to 5ghz. Again I stress, you really need better cooling. Also, there is no optimal,. every cpu is different. Every cpu overclocks different. Two i7 8700ks will not necessarily overclock the same.

Oh ya. Go get this program. Free version left side scroll down. Good for monitoring, temp, voltages, usage. Mush simpler interface then Intel extreme blah blah blah. No you can not overclock with it. Strictly a monitoring program. If your going to overclock do it in the bios. That is the only proper way to learn.

This is a basic Idea. This is what works for me. If I had to venture a guess, I would say somewhere around 1.3v and someplace in the middle for the llc. For 4.8. Just a guess though. Good luck.
