Hello, I'm trying to decide on my processor to go with my build but i'm having trouble on deciding between the Intel core i5-8600K or the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1900X. I need to know which one would be best for full Hd - 4k gaming and video streaming, video editing is not a big thing for me, thx.
P.S the graphics card i'm using will be a Gigabyte AORUS Radeon RX 580 8GB Graphic Cards and the AMD is about $70 more, so is it worth the price difference? thanks again.

Solution
Threadripper is pointless for gaming , its a productivity chip more than anything else.

Look at the Ryzen 2600x or 2700x for gaming + streaming

The 8600k is better for straight gaming but those 2 Ryzen will trounce it when it comes to streaming with no fps drops.

They also both come with decent coolers in the box.

Solution
4k gaming needs only a minimal amount of CPU to run well since there is no GPU out there that can provide high enough FPS to make the CPU work hard.
Streaming 4k on the other hand will be too much for either of the CPUs if you go for software streaming.

Others have already addressed the CPU issue.

For 4K gaming, you're going to need a GTX 1080Ti. 4K in triple-A titles will crush most video cards at 4K, and even the 1080Ti will sometimes struggle. That's just with trying to get 60fps.
