How to completely erase a language from windows 7

Hi !

I want no language other than English to be displayed in my entire system.
When I go to region and language settings and click uninstall display languages I only see English installed.
Also, I have deleted all fonts that don't use English characters from fonts settings.
The default language in all of my browsers is English.

However, in some places on the internet, I do see other languages that don't use English characters(for example : Arabic) show up in texts like Youtube video titles and sometimes in search engine results.
I must also mention that my Youtube location is set to US and the search results of duckduckgo
are always filtered to US.

I am well aware that it's helpless if the foreign language is displayed in some sort of image. But I do see these languages in text places.

I believe that there must be a way to make the characters of a certain language completely unrecognizable by windows no mater where it is displayed and regardless of the region settings. And that's exactly what I am asking for.

Can anyone help me with that ?

.

Thanks for your concern scout, but I have already done that.
I should've mentioned that in the question but I didn't want to make it too long.

My goal is to make a language not readable by windows no matter what my settings are.

I've searched the web for about an hour before publishing this thread.
Nothing helped and nothing was even relevant enough.

But I'll definitely post the answer if I stumble upon it someday.

Most likely, these are web fonts, a.k.a fonts that download alongside the web page's other content. Some content blocker browser extensions like Ublock Origin include a button that lets you toggle off remote fonts.

But what purpose could this possibly serve, aside from making pages even more unreadable? At least if the text is displayed, you can copy it into something like Google Translate to read it. Again, you might also try using a browser extension that can automatically translate pages using a translation service like that.

I tried Ublock Origin. I had high hopes for it but unfortunately it failed to serve my purpose.
It neither worked for youtube nor duckduckgo.

I toggled block remote fonts but I could still see foreign characters when I search the keyword (Arabic) for example.

Let's just call the purpose : deep personalization.

Don't know if it's possible to "revert" enabling language for non-Unicode programs in Windows (whether a language chosen -following this procedure- as default gets it's info added for good to the system but seems from couple checked tutorials it's not the case which is a good sign), follow these steps and choose default language English instead and see if it works (did not try it):
Make Windows correctly display characters from languages other than English (set non-Unicode programs)>>https://www.digitalcitizen.life/changing-display-language-used-non-unicode-programs, Even if it doesn't work you might choose a totally different language than the one you are aiming to "disable" the characters display and see if it would help, on the other hand one would be inclined to think a registry modification would be possible for the same purpose.

Thanks for suggesting this approach but unfortunately it didn't work.

I tried to change system locale to Russian hoping to over-wright or disable Arabic. But I could still see Arabic string in the web.
I thought It was only restricted to the browser but I was wrong. I could actually copy Arabic text from the web and paste it into notepad and it shows up in the correct Arabic format which blew my mind as I don't have any Arabic fonts or language packs or even any windows pre-provided folder or file that has Arabic word in it as I have deleted them long ago. So how come windows could still recognize that language ?

I think the solution to my problem won't be just changing a system setting and will more likely be missing up with the system root itself.

One more thing : Actually changing the system locale to a different language did harm more than good as it changed the text of some apps like IDM to a different language and it was English in the first place.

But anyways, I like it when people think with me. So...thank you very much ROGG !

I came close to getting it form this (https://www.cnet.com/forums/discussions/remove-arabic-language-from-computers-176499/)

As the last one who replied seemed to know how to do it. But the link he provided wasn't working as it redirects then says 404.

Found something interesting !!! THIS IS FOR ANYONE INTERESTED IN THE TOPIC OF THIS THREAD

Turns out that some fonts like Arial do support Arabic characters while others like Georgia don't.
I was fooled by Arial font as it's preview in windows was in English characters but turns out that it can actually display Arabic characters

---> How i figured it out :-
- I opened up word pad and selected Georgia as typing font.
- Then I opened the web and searched Arabic and I copied some Arabic string from Wikipedia.
- Then on pasting it to the word pad, the font type automatically changed to Arial.
- I selected the font style drop down menu and hovered over different fonts. Some fonts got applied to the Arabic string changing it's style and some others have no effect or they mess up it's format. Then I was sure these fonts don't support Arabic.

- Then I thought that if I only have these fonts that don't support that specific language installed then there is no way for the characters of that language to be displayed in their correct format.

I confirmed the theory by viewing font families from Microsoft website.
Arial : https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/typography/font-list/arial
Georgia : https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/typography/font-list/georgia

If you go to either link and scroll down you can see "code pages". Which is defined by Wikipedia as "a table of values that describes the character set used for encoding a particular set of characters."
You can see non Latin languages like Arabic listed in code pages of Arial. While Georgia has few code pages mostly Latin, which is suitable for me.

I'm still not sure if I'll reach the goal of entirely erasing non desired language by deleting fonts that support it as I haven't already deleted all of these fonts due to the system protection level of most of them.

But thanks to ROGG and this link : https://www.wikihow.com/Delete-Protected-System-Fonts-in-Windows-7
Now I can do it but it'll take some time so I can't confirm if the result satisfies the need. But I'll try it then confirm the result if it did.
