I purchased a 2GB DDR2 2RX8 PC2-6400U 800MHz 240PIN DIMM Intel RAM Desktop Memory CL6 to upgrade my 1GB RAM stick - the problem is it still only shows 3GB RAM in task manager
I also have a different brand 2GB RAM stick installed but it still shows 3GB RAM not 4GB.
This is my motherboard, I didn't know if the fact that it was "unbuffered" ram made a difference

"Single channel memory architecture
Two 240-pin DDR2 DIMM sockets
Supported DIMM types:
PC2-4200 (533 MHz)
PC2-5300 (667 MHz)
PC2-6400 (800 MHz)
Non-ECC memory only, unbuffered
Supports 2GB DDR2 DIMMs
Supports up to 4 GB* on 32 bit PCs (using two 2 GB DIMMs)
32 bit PCs cannot address a full 4.0 GB of memory."
I'm running Windows 7 64 bit Professional
I have tried installing both the 2GB RAM sticks old and new solo, showing 2GB RAM when alone and I have tried switching their places in the slots but it still won't show the full 4GB RAM
I have tried running Windows Memory Diagnostic which within the test itself shows no hardware errors however I don't know how to check the test results within the Desktop
