I am going to do a study in Multi-media design. As the title mentioned, my study will contain the following: Visual design, photography/photoshopping, video editing, VR-related stuff and for me some occassional gaming on the side.
My max budget has been raised from 1500 euros to 1800 euros MAXIMUM, but there is 1 small issue I run into.
My first option was this beautiful Dell G5 15, but it only kinda sucks it has a Max-Q graphics card. The thing that scares me is that I have been reading reviews about Dell on a site called Trustpilot (for the people who do not know, this is a legit website where customers share their experience with a shop or company) and the average review of Dell was a 1 star rating with many complaints on how their orders didn't seem to get processed and the customer support being totally unreachable. This made me kinda scared to but any laptop over there.
Unfortunately, there are not many shops here in the Netherlands that sell the kind of laptop I am looking for in my price range. I mainly look for an i7-8750H with 16 GB of ram and a 1060 - 6 GB. Sure, there are some models lingering around, but not many laptops currently have an 8750H and stick mainly with the 7700HQ.
Sine that I did found are kinda pricey, like this MSI GE63 (. It has the specs I need, then I noticed it only has a Single channel/1 sick of 16 GB going on in there. Then I found this HP OMEN, which is priced cheaper but yet AGAIN has single channel.
There are a few laptops who do meet my requirements with dual channel (2x8 GB) but those also have an 17.3 Inch screen, and I do not know how this will be in regards to traveling to school ETC.
So my question is: Should I settle for the Single-channel (hoping it wont suppress too much performance of photoshopping) or choose for the 17 inch laptop, even if it might be slightly inconvenient?
