Is free-sync worth getting an amd card?

Sorry for my bad English, but is not my first language.
I was going to buy a GTX 1060 6gb but I thought that it could be a good idea to prefer the RX 580 8gb because my monitor has free-sync (Samsung c24Fg73 With 1ms and 144hz). My cpu is a i5-4460. Where I live they cost the same (350 USD / 300 EUR). The question is: is the lost of some fps of the RX 580 worth free-sync? Thank in advance.

Having freesync will keep you from using vsync. The monitor itself will change its refresh rate dynamically to match whatever your gpu is putting out. Removes screen tearing like vsync but doesn't cause input lag, spikes, and doesn't force you to have to lock in to the nearest refresh rate like for example, your game is outputting 85fps if you use vsync it will lock it down to the closest refresh rate value that is below your outputting fps so it will get locked down to 60fps. With freesync, your game will run at 85fps and the monitor will work with it.

So if you are looking at performance benchmarks for the 580 and feel you would be happy with it then go for it.
