When I installed the new ram my computer would start ie fans spinning leds working, but my monitor wont get a signal. I tried running only the new ram and it would work. Tried 1 new and 1 old and it would work. I tried 2 new 1 old it would work. 1 new 2 old it would work. I would even go into the bios with 12 gb of ram in and it would recognize the 12 gb. I really need help because I'm freaking out I might need a new motherboard.

Solution
Check XMP settings on the BIOS and other RAM configuration. Mixing RAM is usually a bad idea even if you pair the channels. You have 2 different RAM speeds so even if you get them both working, your motherboard will slow down your new RAM to 1333 to match the old one. I am not sure what the timing difference will be. Regardless, having the old RAM installed will hurt the performance of the new one
