I play PUBG, Fortnite, Rainbow Six and a fe other small games like gold with your friends.

These games all stutter and hitch when I playing quite a lot. I have checked

1. Temperatures
2. Drivers
3. Storage (moved to SSD)

Is is much worse since the latest windows update.

Any ideas?

by now, i have already tried another GPU, CPU, RAM sticks, Format, Motherboard, HDDs and SSDs, a million formats. i'm surrendering already.

Do you think that a bad or insufficient PSU could cause this tipe of behaviour?

What are your specs? Did it always stutter?

I haven't been on PC very long , but Ir eacall no stutter on Rainbow that was my first game.

Fortnite has been all over th place with stuttering, when I first installed months ago there was no problem and then it fluctuated every patch, many people also have that problem though, but since it now happens on all game I play it leads me to believe its on my end. I just purchased PUBG and it stutters a lot too.

Specs:

i5 4590
GTX 970 Strix
8gb Corsair vengence
Evga G2 Gold 650w
120gb SSD
2Tb HDD
Windows 10 fully updated

My framerates are just fine and I used Sieges in game benchmark as a reference test.

That simply isn't the case there are millions of people who use 8gb or Ram and for most games it's enough, when there is a difference it's in small amount of fps 10% or so. The strix 970 OC perroms better than a 1060 Gb standard clock and is easily capable of running this game well.

My fps is about 90 on mostly high settings, that isn't the cause of stuttering.

What do mean check the cables to see if they failed?

I have most settings on medium and run high fps, so it's not that.

Question from benwinwood6 : "All my games stuttering all of a sudden?"

The part you're missing about 8gig vs 16gig is the minimum frame rate...the 90 you claim is great, but if it's dipping to 20-30 in between frames you'll get massive stutter. The 970 may be capable of hitting 90fps occasionally but again the issue is the lows...not the highs. For example at 1440p in CoD WW2 there's a low fps difference of 30fps between 8gig and 16gig when using a GTX1060 w 6gig of ram...while the card hits a high of approx 90fps with both 8 and 16 gig of system ram.

If your GPU or CPU are overclocked I would reset back to factory clocks until you get this figured out to rule out any minor stability issues.

Have you tied turning off "gaming" mode in Windows 10?
Disable gaming option in Windows 10 which is available in the settings. Go to Settings > Gaming > Gaming mode, Xbox, turn off the options.

They aren't overclocked at all, gaming mode is off.

hey people. i'm still testing everything I can but couldn't find the issue.
I've tested: Another GPU, Another CPU, Bought an SSD and formatted the system again, tried another sticks of ram, but NOTHING RESOLVES THE ISSUE!
there's only 2 more things to test:
- Motherboard. I have a spare mobo around (asus m5a88 m) to test, but it has just a 4 pin connector to the cpu and I really like to overclock to, at least 4.3, 4.0 in my FX8370E. is it possible in that board?
- Powersupply. there's another generic 600w psu that I could test, but... I don't know :/
in your opinion, could the issue be related to motherboard or psu?
