Nor did I say it would. I only implied it's a way of eliminating the possibility of malware causing problems. Nor did you say whether you ran DISM.exe and sfc/ scannow, which means you really don't know if you have system file corruption. Maybe you should stay on the same page with those trying to help before responding back.

That's a DirectX error, not a graphics driver error. Go into the game directory (right click shortcut, click "Open file location"). Open the folder called _CommonRedist. Open the DirectX folder, then the June2010 folder, scroll down to the DirectX install executable ("DXSETUP.exe"), and double click to install it.

Live for Speed has other errors that could be the cause of the crashing, like a 64 bit error, and track and car missing errors.

Note this tweak involves registry editing. If you've never done such a thing before or don't know how to backup and restore your registry, it's not advisable to attempt it.

Admirable
It can be a hardware related issue if the GPU malfunctioning. A miscalculation could be erroneously throwing an error in DirectX or the game's primary executable file. However, if the error is consistent and always the exact same error message, then yes, most likely a software based issue.
