Is GTX1060 3GB enough VRAM?

Paired with 8GB 2133mhz ram and an i5 8400, is 3gb of gtx1060 vram enough for 1080p gaming on high?
I plan to play newly released AAA titles and use this for the next 2-3 years for now

For now @ 1080p/60Hz yes, mostly. But max gfx setting in today's games are more VRAM demanding than ever. If you're not planning on buying another card for 2-3 years, I'd go with the 6GB version instead.
