So I bought a 850 VA UPS and there are 3 outlets. 1 for my monitor, 1 for my pc so one was left so I plugged in my modem into it because here in my country there is power failure every time and the internet is important for me.

Is it good though?

Also, the UPS cable is short so I have an extension with 4 UK plug (Power Protection, Surge Protected with Thermal Fuses) I plugged my UPS cable in it to use my PC. The extension is plugged in the main wall socket which has (I don't know how it is called) a wire that goes in the soil outside connected to a copper thing (french word: Prise de Terre) It somehow direct excessive voltage in the ground. I don't know, something like that.

Is it ok what I did or should I definitely plug the UPS in the main wall socket?

Sorry for my English.

I see why you can't. I have a UPS that has 4 UK standard outlets and they serve a device each. You may want to get the UPS to a Wall outlet that has proper grounding. You can have a small extension per your devices jst don't run all your devices on one power strip and have it on one of the 3 outlets output from your UPS.

Yes, this is perfectly safe. I have my cable modem and router connected to an UPS and have done so for many years. In fact, it came in very handy during a recent power outage while I was working from home.

Thanks for your help but I did not understand some words sorry because I speak other languages.

Here is the setup in picture:

Note: The 2nd computer remains off all time unless I power it on. It is not plugged in the UPS.
The LED lights I only power it when I want so it is off all time too.
The only thing using power from the extension is the UPS.
Tell me if it is ok. Thank you.
