Hi,

I Overclocked my CPU to 3.8GHz a couple of months ago. I can't remember when it started but I'm occasionally getting (what I think is) 3 beeps under load. I don't get any errors at startup.

This is my first OC and I followed some guide to achieve this. Below are my full BIOS settings.
My first thought was that the heat is causing this. But according to real temp the temperatures are never over 70 Celsius under load (gaming).

I hope you guys can help me sort this out.

Thanks in advance,

SisU

Hi captaincharisma

Sorry I should have been more clear. The temps are usually below 70 Celsius under load when gaming and such. The temps now with only browser open is below 45 Celsius.

I'm not 100% certain but I believe 3 short beeps means there's a memory issue. It's possible you acidentally overclocked the memory speed when you OC the CPU.

Start wit the basics and put everything back to stock speeds in the BIOS and see if that fixes the beeping errors. If it stops beeping then you know the overclock wasn't properly stable.

Can't really say what it is. It is different now, 2 short ones, 1 short 2 long i think. Amazing that it's still running :) Temps have max been on 66 though. I think you're right about the reset. Is the stock speeds available anywhere so that I don't have to reset the whole thing?

In picture number 3, the top BIOS setting that says "19x". That probably needs to be set to "Auto" or "Default".

FYI: Those 1 short 2 long beeps you're getting refers to the video card. An incorrect CPU overclock will / can also affect the incorrect PCI-e slot speeds which may trigger the beeps.

Honestly, before you possibly damage something I would go to your BIOS, press F10 to reset everything and start fresh.

Ok so i reset bios to optimal settings. I started gaming and I got 3 beeps after a while. I then put my table fan in front of the computer and didn't get any more beeps. I've been watching the load on the cpu, gpu and ram. cpu is below 50% more or less all the time while gpu been up on 70%, but the ram is working the hardest at around 90% at times. Can that be the problem? The ram overheating cos it's damn hot in here? Last night (before I reset) I was using the fan as well with no beeping...

It's possible the memory could be getting too hot but it's also possible that something on the motherboard was overheating and when you put a fan on it directly that helps keep it cool.

I would download a free program called memtest. Burn that to either CD or USB and let it run for a couple of hours. That will test your memory and if a stick is bad it will tell you which one it is

Sorry for my late reply. Just wanted to come back and say that it has been working fine without beeps when cooling the case more.

Thanks for all your attempts to help me.
