Hello friends,

I need a recommendation for a desktop PC to perform mostly as a server. I dont game so I dont need a gaming PC. The PC I have now is an HP that is ten years old, and while it serves my purposes it needs replacement. Although I have owned various PC's in the past from various manufacturers I finally settled on HP as they have been the most reliable. The HP PC I have now luckily had several bays for multiple HDD's which turned out to be very fortunate because I have a lot of content that family and friends have access to.

But I digress, so what I need is an out-of-the-box PC that I intend to use to stream my content over the internet through for example PLEX. So it doesnt need the most robust video capabilities but certainly a strong CPU.

I dont have much interest in building a PC so Im looking for something in stock. I would alomost prefer a Linux computer because I have become concerned about all the other OS's reporting back to the mother ship.

I need expandibility to be sure, mostly along the lines of multiple HDD's with the cooling power to deal with that. A PC with multiple hot-swappable bays would be nice but not really essential.

I'm looking to spend up to about $2000

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks for the replies, I very much appreciate it.
My bandwidth is a FIOS connection 75/75
Streaming over the internet is primarily what I need it to do. I have family and friends far flung in this world and they connect to my content over the internet through Plex. Also simultaneously I use various devices (firestick/Nvidia Shield/TV apps) in my local network. I am just reaching the limits of capabilities as there are times when 4 streams are running variously in network and through internet and when that involves 1080 transcodes everything gets boggy
