Hello friends,
I need a recommendation for a desktop PC to perform mostly as a server. I dont game so I dont need a gaming PC. The PC I have now is an HP that is ten years old, and while it serves my purposes it needs replacement. Although I have owned various PC's in the past from various manufacturers I finally settled on HP as they have been the most reliable. The HP PC I have now luckily had several bays for multiple HDD's which turned out to be very fortunate because I have a lot of content that family and friends have access to.
But I digress, so what I need is an out-of-the-box PC that I intend to use to stream my content over the internet through for example PLEX. So it doesnt need the most robust video capabilities but certainly a strong CPU.
I dont have much interest in building a PC so Im looking for something in stock. I would alomost prefer a Linux computer because I have become concerned about all the other OS's reporting back to the mother ship.
I need expandibility to be sure, mostly along the lines of multiple HDD's with the cooling power to deal with that. A PC with multiple hot-swappable bays would be nice but not really essential.
I'm looking to spend up to about $2000
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
