Hi all, i just built my brother a PC but it is having a overheating problem when underload. Ive tried cleaning and reapplying the thermal paste, speeding up the fans to max and resitting the cooler.
The specs are
fx 8350
m5a99x evo r2.0 mobo
12gb of standard ddr3 ram
corsair 550w vs psu
standatd 2tb HD
and this is probably it but im using a old stock cooler from the a10 6800k on it as the cooler i bought said it was AM3+ but had no way to add a mount or adjust it at all. I can get through a nearly full run of 3dmark before it overheats hitting around 80c and turning off (its around 40-55c idle cant get a exact measurement as it consantly changes) on the 1080p high end pc test. Just before i buy a hyper evo 212 i just want a second opinion as im the only one here trying to fix this. Thanks for any Reply :)

That fan is your problem. FM2 and FX stock coolers are garbage. You never want the 8350 over 60c. At 70c it will throttle. 80c can/will cause damage.

My advice is to get the 212 and don't use the PC again until you can install the new cooler.
