I have a laptop version of a 1050 3gb, i5-7300hq and 12 gigs of ram. Im wondering if I can run the game "Squad" smoothly. (60fps+)

Thanks!

Is the game you're talking about..... maybe.

You fall a bit short of the "minimum" GTX 770 on the GPU front.

Realistically, dropping resolution &/or in-game settings would be required to hit 60+FPS.

The game is still early access, so further optimizations may come/help in future, but right now, you'll need to make some sacrifices

I'm NOT optimistic.

At almost all LOW settings at 1920x1080 it was getting low 40FPS range... that's with a better system than you have so even if you drop to 1366x768 at a guess that might just mean roughly 40FPS on LOW again.

That's a few months old but I don't think there are big differences... I think a game from a big developer like CSGO that's also well optimized might be the best approach.

I suspect any SHOOTER might by a relatively low budget team would be especially prone to stutters caused by CPU bottlenecks since multi-player is hard to optimize for.

UPDATE:
It's hard to completely analyze the above video since it compares different CPU's. Problem is while one is dual-core hyperthreaded (2C/4T) and yours is 4C/4T I'm not sure how much the architecture, frequency, and game multi-threading will affect where the bottleneck hits.

*However, even with the i5-7400 (4C/4T) which is slightly faster than your CPU and same core/thread count I believe there is still a big CPU bottleneck at times... in the last test I saw the GPU at first averaging about 75% (between 60% and 90%) but then BAFFLINGLY dropping to about 30% usage when all I saw was some tarmac and one guy with a setting sun in the background?

Low GPU usage means big CPU bottleneck so not sure what's going on there. (You can't use CPU percentage as a guide since we have no idea how much of those cores the code can utilize but we CAN use a single GPU as a guide so 100% usage means no CPU bottleneck and 30% usage means a massive CPU bottleneck).

Maybe these issues are sorted out now but it's all I have to go on unless you find people that have similar systems to yours that are currently playing the game who can shed more light.
