I've looked at all previous threads on this topic and none have helped me.
To be clear, It is not a thermal issue or a malware issue (fresh copy of WIN10)
So for the past few days, a few minutes into playing a game the FPS drops randomly. From 60-70+ to 10-15 and stays that way for a few seconds. Alt+Tab fixes it and also just hitting the Escape key to open up the pause menu. I have a Gtx 1060 6Gb and a core i7-6700 with 16gb of RAM. This issue has gotten very frequent and is extremely frustrating. I've reinstalled fresh versions of the display drivers, reset the PC and run numerous malware scans. Still no dice. Not sure what to do.
