Built a new pc for someone

MSI B250M gaming pro
Intel pentium gold g5400
2tb seagate hdd
Ballistix sport ddr4 2x4gb
EVGA 80+ white 500watt
Gigabyte radeon rx 550 d5

When I turn the computer on, it powers up, fans and LEDs come on, then within a fraction of a second, shuts off again. EZ Debug light for DRAM flashes on then off with the rest of the computer.

I have tried with no RAM, both sticks, and one stick in each slot.

All standoffs are in the correct position

I have tried unplugging wires one by one.

Tried clearing cmos.

The only thing that i have done that gets it to turn on and stay on is removing the CPU, but obviously not having a CPU wont get me very far.

So, I thought maybe bad CPU or bad mobo. Returned both and got new ones and put everything back together. Still same problem

I'm not sure where to go next.

Help please and thank you

Solution
Your CPU is not listed on compatibility list for this motherboard.

The G5400 is "coffee lake" not "kaby lake" series. You need the Pentium G4600 or i5 7600

Sorry guys. That was an incredibly stupid mistake on my part. I checked compatibility before I purchased and could've sworn everyrhing was good. Guess I must have either read it wrong or typed something wrong.

Thank you
